During an interview with VH1 News at the Sundance Film Festival, Aubrey “Drake” Graham admits to a dream role that he is secretly studying for.

“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him, that’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.” Drake stated. 

“I want to do something great,” he said. “I want to do something for my culture: the younger people who are still in tune with everything going on. I’m actually writing with my friends right now,” he continued.

You think wheelchair Jimmy has the acting chops to take on the role of one of the United States most dignified Black man ever?

I’m sorry but..that’s a no. I’m not trying to hate on Drake but I’d be pissed if someone ever casts him as Obama. He brags on how much of a “bad influence” he is and the crowd he surrounds himself with? No. Just..no. I’m not judging his lifestyle, whatever tickles your pickle man, but that’s a big role to play. On top of that, you’re not even American. As an American with black blood, who comes from a family that’s been here since the early 1900’s, that’s fucking ridiculous that he’d even ask that. I’d love to see him in films though, but this role? Nope. I like Drake and all but he’s one of the least genuine people I’ve ever seen. One minute he’s this intelligent, laid back, relatable guy, the next he’s trying his hardest to be a “thug”. Sixty percent of the time he’s not even being himself, he’s being this persona that he thinks everyone wants to see, which isn’t untrue. But for him, a man that can’t even be himself in real life going to play Obama, a man that has been a symbol of change and hope for so many Black Americans, it’s just…stupid.
